What should I expect from my first appointment?
The first appointment is a virtual 30 minute intake, and includes an extensive interview and health history so I can tailor the treatment to exactly your needs. One hour follow up appointments are made as needed. The frequency and number of visits depend on what your health goals are. Ultimately, a maintenance "tune up" once a month or once a season is recommended. I am also happy to talk briefly over the phone before your first visit to answer any questions you may have.

Who can benefit?
Everyone! My practice includes men, women, children, adolescents, and the elderly. Even those who are sensitive to needles can benefit from gentle and non-insertive styles. |
What is Japanese Acupuncture?
Japanese Acupuncture is based on the same underlying theory as Chinese Acupuncture, but equal emphasis is placed on treating the root cause of disease as well as the acute manifestation. Japanese acupuncture also uses fewer, thinner, and shallower needles, and so is a great option for those who are sensitive to needles. |
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture should never be painful, although every person is different in terms of what they will feel during an acupuncture treatment. The needles are very thin, thinner than a cat's whisker in most cases. Sometimes you may feel a pulling or tugging sensation, or a small pinch as the needle is inserted, but many people don't feel the needles at all. |
What does acupuncture treat?
Acupuncture can be used to treat chronic & acute pain from headaches, injuries, and muscular skeletal imbalances, insomnia, anxiety & depression, allergies & asthma, auto-immune and endocrine diseases, GI disturbances, infertility & menstrual issues, and much more. |
